Kalicalanin's breeding

The first two Norwegian Forest Cats – Lotta and Ronja –
joined our family in the early autumn year 2004. Having had
cats in our family earlier, we were already quite accustomed
to have them as family members.

After getting acquainted with these charming and intelligent
cats, we were interested to learn more about Norwegian Forest
Cats. Cat exhibitions increased our knowledge and experiences
giving us deeper understanding about the world and nature of
these cats.

We made the decision to apply for our own breeding name in
the beginning of the year 2006. The name “Kalicalanin” was
confirmed by FIFE in August 2006.

Kalicalani means “the scent of the rambling rose” in alaskan
indian language. Kalicalani Kila was also the name of our
Finnish Lappland Dog, with whom our new family members lived
together for the first two years.

Our cats are family members. Also all our kittens will grow up
as a part of our every day life and as such they will have lots
of attention and care. Our aim is to bring them up to be healthy
and socially active cats.

Our cats live mostly indoors, but they have a garden house, where
they can go out to get some fresh air and enjoy the sun in the
summer time.

As a breeder we are members of Keski-Suomen rotukissayhdistys,
InCat -association and Norwegian Forest Cat -association.
